Bob Dylan Wrote Propaganda Songs

On this MLK Day I've been thinking about how right wingers have been trying to make Martin Luther King apolitical.

Besides being complete bullshit, Dr. King was deeply political, I celebrate his politicality.

The world is a better place today because this man was political.

It just strikes me as odd.

The same right wingers who simply cannot keep themselves from sucking the dick of Ronald Reagan's corpse in public insist that a crusader for civil rights, who spoke out against the Vietnam War, who was organizing a Poor People's March, who was agitating with striking sanitation workers when he died, was supposed to be non-political.

A saint (he wasn't) who died and took our history or racism with him (he didn't).

In his day the same right wingers were calling Martin Luther King Jr. a communist.

Now they try to take him away from the left or even worse, claim him as one of the right.

"Bob Dylan Wrote Propaganda Songs" makes me think of Dr. King.

It was a defense of being political.
